NQA Foodbank Darlington

Who we are

NQA Foodbank Darlington was created to support families and individuals who are struggling to manage food costs. Unlike many other foodbanks, NQA has an alternative approach where we ask less personal questions. We work alongside existing foodbanks to support people who may not fit their criteria, and we operate alternative hours to extend foodbank services to cater for those who wouldn't usually be able to attend (such as during the week).

The project is operated by a team of volunteers who give up their own personal time to help others in need. We rely on local partnerships and donations to provide support to those in need.

What we do

  • Promoting social inclusion by removing inequalities usually associated by accessing a foodbank by giving everyone a platform to be able to access support no matter of their background.
  • Work with local training bodies and education centres to help encourage alternative options for people who are struggling financially.
  • Maximising the involvement of volunteers and developing collaborative methods of working
  • Developing new partnerships with local businesses, community organisations
  • We offer support to people across Darlington and Tees-Valley, particular those from disadvantaged backgrounds who have had services, employment or other cut backs.
